The Brighten By command results in an incremental brightening of a lamp module. This is typically a small and direct increase in brightness. Since the CP-290 does not really support this, it will do its best to brighten the lamp to the desired level, changing to fully bright first and then dimming to what should be a brighter level. The Brighten By command is ignored by appliance modules and Socket Rockets.
